Research Focus Areas:
The Wide/Ultrawide Bandgap Semiconductors Laboratory focuses on developing high-performance nanophotonic and nanoelectronic devices using wide/ultrawide bandgap semiconductors.
Primary Research Interests:
-
Epitaxial growth, fabrication, and characterization of oxide and nitride semiconductors
-
Nanostructured photonics including light-emitting diodes (LEDs), nanowire LEDs, laser diodes, waveguides, and photodetectors
-
Light-emitters for flexible electronics, micro-displays, and AR/VR applications
-
Surface/air/water disinfection
-
Nanostructured single photon sources for quantum photonics
-
III-nitride and oxide-based memory devices (RRAM) and field-effect transistors (FETs), and high-electron-mobility transistors (HEMTs)
-
Solar cells and Solar Fuel Cells
Opening Positions:
We have open positions for undergraduate students, master's students, Ph.D. students, and one postdoctoral research associate in the fields of nanophotonics, sensors, HEMTs, FETs, and memory devices. If you are interested in our research, please feel free to send your applications to hieu.p.nguyen@ttu.edu.
